Two-Day PE Curriculum Experience

Bringing
Lacrosse
to
Urban Classrooms

Urban Lacrosse Academy partners with schools to introduce lacrosse through a 2-day PE curriculum that is fun, accessible, and designed for all students.

Urban Lacrosse Academy (ULA) offers a two-day, in-school physical education curriculum designed for 3rd–6th grade students. This engaging, hands-on program introduces the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun and interactive way.

Our model is “train the trainer” — while students enjoy active instruction from ULA staff, we also work directly with classroom and PE instructors to help them gain confidence in teaching lacrosse independently. The goal is for educators to feel fully equipped to integrate lacrosse into their curriculum long after our visit.

What We Provide

  • Lender Equipment Kit – sticks, balls, and goals provided during our sessions.

  • Curriculum Delivery – our staff leads engaging lacrosse sessions during two class periods.

  • Train-the-Trainer Support – we work directly with PE teachers and staff so they feel confident continuing lacrosse activities after our visit.

  • Grant Assistance – we help schools explore funding options to secure their own equipment for long-term use.

The 2-Day Curriculum

  1. Day One – Skills & Foundations

    • Introduction to lacrosse history and culture.

    • Hands-on training: scooping, throwing, catching, and cradling.

    • Fun skill-building games for all levels.

  2. Day Two – Team Play & Games

    • Review of basic skills.

    • Small-sided games designed for PE class sizes.

    • Emphasis on teamwork, inclusion, and confidence-building.

Train the Trainer

Our model ensures lacrosse doesn’t stop after we leave:

  • Teachers receive step-by-step lesson plans.

  • Support to integrate lacrosse into existing PE programming.

  • Connection to ULA resources and community partners.

Scheduling & Priority

We work to accommodate all requests, but programs with funding support will receive scheduling priority. Whenever possible, we will serve additional schools through grants and community partnerships.
